CAFETIERE: THIS IS HOW WE BREW IT
60g coffee
1000G water
Brew time 10 minutes
- Boil kettle
- Grind 60g of great coffee to a coarse consistency
- pre warm the brewer with hot water, discard once warm
- Put cafetiere on scale & add coffee
- Tare scale
- Start timer
- Pour 1000g of water, make sure all coffee is saturated
- At 4 minutes stir the top layer off coffee 3 times, the majority of the coffee will now sink to the bottom
- Discard any remaining foam floating on surface with a spoon
- Place the plunger into the cafetiere & push it about an inch below the surface of the coffee (don’t plunge all the way)
- At 10 minutes pour the coffee in cups and enjoy
AEROPRESS: THIS IS HOW WE BREW IT
15g coffee
250g filtered water
Brew time 2.30
- Boil the kettle (use just off boil)
- Grind 15g of great coffee to medium course consistency
- Add Aeropress paper into the brew cap and attach to brewer.
- Add hot water to rinse the paper and warm the brewer.
- Discard water
- Place the brewer & cup on the scales & add the coffee
- Tare the scales
- Start timer
- pour 50g of water, make sure to wet all grounds
- wait 30 seconds
- pour remaining 200g of water
- At 2 minutes give the coffee 3 stirs
- Put the plunger into the Aeropress
- push down for 30 seconds, when you hear a hiss, stop
- enjoy your cup of coffee
V60: THIS IS HOW WE BREW IT
15g coffee
250g water
Brew time 2.30
- Boil kettle(use just off boil)
- Grind 15g of great coffee to a medium consistency
- Place filter paper into V60, place on a cup & rinse paper
- Discard water
- Put V60 and cup on the scales, add coffee & tare scales
- Start timer
- pour 50g of water, make sure to wet all the coffee, give a couple of stirs here
- At 45 seconds pour 100g water
- At 1.30 pour the remaining 100g water into the brewer evening covering the coffee
- Gently stir the coffee & make sure to remove any grounds stuck to the side of V60
- Around 2.45 all the water should have drained and you will be left with a flat even bed of coffee.
